When director Om Raut undertook remaking Ramayan for the big screen, he wasn’t sure of how big expectations people would have from Adipurush, which stars Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh. He got a taste of it when the teaser of the film was rejected by the audience for bad VFX and the way Lord Hanuman and Ravana’s characters were shown. This led the makers to go back and work again on the film. On Tuesday afternoon, the makers of the film unveiled the new trailer for the first time and the reactions from the audience were more than accepting and they were appreciating the hard work being put in it.
The trailer opens with Lord Hanuman in deep meditation and his voiceover introducing the tale of Lord Ram who was born as human but went on to become a God. The trailer then takes the audience through various episodes of Ramayana from Sita’s kidnapping to him eating with Shabri to burning off Lanka to building of Ram Setu .
We also get a small glimpse of Saif Ali Khan’s Lankesh praying in front of a huge shivling, with his voiceover which says, “Brahmand mein tu jo bhi paane layak hai, tu pa chuka hai, fir bhi tu rakshas hi hai. Lakshmi ko paale, Narayan ho jayega (Yuu have already achieved everything that was worthy in the universe but you are still called a devil. Get Lakshmi and you will become Lord Vishnu).”
A special mention needs to be given to the music directors Ajay-Atul and background music directors Sanchit and Ankit Balhara for keeping the tempo of the trailer high and giving the right feel for the visuals.
Fans reacted very positively to the trailer. One of them wrote, “EVERY LINE GIVES US GOOSEBUMPS…” Few felt it was even better than Baahubali series and wrote, “After Bahubali… This one looks EPIC… The scale, visuals, cinematography, music… Goosebumps.”
While some even recalled old teaser and called the new one much better and said, “Great experience with the latest trailer. The journey from a poor teaser to an awesome trailer is phenomenal.”
