Sonakshi Sinha recently opened up about bearing the brunt of controversial and sexist scenes in Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore. The actress was at the receiving end of criticism for some of the controversial scenes in the film. In her new interview, Sonakshi said that she would not consider doing a film like Rowdy Rathore today.
When Sonakshi was asked about her scene where Akshay’s character grabs her by her waist and says, ‘Yeh mera maal hai’, she said that today she would never do something like that. She said that she was very young at that time and doing a film with Prabhudheva and Akshay produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was itself a big thing for her.
She further said that she did not think in that direction adding that if today she would read a script like that she would not do it. She said that things change with time and she too has changed.

Sonakshi then went on to say that nobody questioned the makers of the film and people used to always put the blame on her. She said that the woman is always the villain in a situation like that. “Nobody spoke about the writer who wrote the lines, nobody spoke about the person who directed the film,” she added.
On the work front, Sonakshi is all set to play the role of a cop in filmmaker Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar‘s upcoming series Dahaad, which also stars Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah. Set in a small town in Rajasthan, the eight-part crime drama follows sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati (Sonakshi) and her colleagues investigating the case of several women mysteriously found dead in public bathrooms.
