‘The Kerala Story‘ released on Friday but the film’s collections have seen an upward trend post its first weekend. The film has surrounded itself into controversies after its ban in West Bengal and that has in turn helped it to gain momentum. The audience is now curious to see what it is about and thus, flocking to the theatres to watch the film.
After doing extra-ordinary on Monday, the collections of ‘The Kerala Story’ went even higher on Tuesday. The film collected about 11 crore nett Tuesday, as per trade website boxofficeindia.com. Due to its ban in West Bengal, the film lost out on Rs 50 lakhs which could have added to its total. ‘The Kerala Story’ has seen a 10 percent jump on Tuesday after its collections on Monday which were around Rs 10 crore.
With the tuesday collections added, the total numbers so far have reaches 54 crore nett. The film is doing great business in Mumbai and the upward trend is similar to that of ‘The Kashmir Files‘. However, ‘The Kashmir Files’ had block bookings while the collections of ‘The Kerala Story’ are more organic.
But one waits to see how the film lands on its second Friday. If it continues to hold well in the coming days and sees a rise in the collections, it can also come at par to the collections of ‘The Kashmir Files’ but it’s a long way to go for that!
‘The Kerala Story’ stars Adah Sharma. It is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah.
